| Arts and Sciences | |

What is it? The office of Arts and Sciences is designed to help promote classes and workshops both at the local and regional level. Contact the A&S officer to find out what workshops are being offered, how to find artisans of specific disciplines (like you may want to do arrow fletching but you can't find it on our schedule), or to get ideas about what kind of arts and sciences you can get involved with in Darachshire. | Chronicler | |

What is it? The office of the Chronicler publishes the local newsletter, called The Oak Leaf. The newsletter subscriptions are $12 per year for 12 monthly issues (and any occasionally Arts and Sciences special issues). A volunteer evening called a Lick-n-Stick is held once a month to help fold, collate, staple, seal, address, and stamp the newsletters. Chronicler:

What is it? The office of the Constable is in place for two primary functions. First, if you have either lost or found something at an event, the Constable should be notified. Second, the Constable is a key point of contact for security at events, and should be notified if there are any problems. Always include the Seneschal if there are problems at events. Constable:

What is it? The Exchequer is the Treasurer for the group. Members who need Reimbursement forms should contact the Exchequer for rules and regulations. And Autocrats (coordinators for events) should always work with the Exchequer for their event budgets and arranging for gate. Exchequer:

What is it? The Herald helps members find SCA-appropriate names and devices (designing unique coats of arms). At events, the heralds also conduct court and announce the fighters upon the field. Herald:

What is it? The Marshals' job is to act as a Safety expert for the fighting arts in the SCA. The Kingdom and Society Marshallate publishes the rules for armor and fighting, and the local marshals help distribute these rules among the fighters and other marshals. | Minister of Youth Activities | |

What is it? The Minister of Children's job is to coordinate various events for children at major tournaments. These events are not a baby-sitting service, but a participatory opportunity for parents and children together. Activities sometimes include boffer sword fighting, a form that uses foam "weapons" and child-specific armor. What is it? Heavy Weapons is an unchoreographed martial art, recreating swordplay of the middle ages, using rattan swords, shields, and a variety of other secondary weapons. | Rapier Fence >> |
What is it? Rapier Fence is medieval Fencing in the round, using foil, epee, musketeer, or schlager (no saber). Currently rapier practices are almost every Sunday, at Via Marina Park in Oxnard. When the weather turns sour, there are sometimes indoor fencing practices. Please contact the fencing host to confirm practices. You must be at least 14 years old to participate in Rapier Fencing.
