The Oak Leaf
Lick-N-Stick
The Shire publishes a monthly newsletter called The Oak Leaf. To prepare the newsletter for mailing, the Chronicler (the officer who publishes the newsletter) copies all the pages and then hosts a volunteer evening in her home. Members can help fold and collate the pages of the newsletter, staple and seal, and affix the address labels and stamps. You can help the Shire save a little money every month by picking up your copy of The Oak Leaf and save that stamp. You also get the benefit of receiving your copy before anyone else.
The Oak Leaf: The newsletter subscriptions are $12 per year for 12 monthly issues (and any occasionally Arts and Sciences special issues). You can get a new subscription or a renewal by contacting the Chronicler.
Lick-n-Stick meets at Mathom Grange, the home of TH Lady Morgana, in Oxnard, the last Thursday of every month at 7pm.
The Lick-n-Stick is open to anyone who would like to volunteer for the evening. Even if you do not currently subscribe to the newsletter, you can help fold, collate, staple, seal, address, and stamp. Or if you are really brand-new and would just like to meet people in the Shire and ask questions, here's a great opportunity to hang out for a few hours and learn about the SCA.
