Shire Meeting Minutes, june 2011

Meeting started: about 7:00 p.m.

 

Officers

A&S: A&S report is in, things are ebbing right now (3 of 5 guilds are inactive right now, Textiles and Brewing are active). People’s Choice A&S display and competitions happened in April, but not very much—we want to do more in summer. Remember Scribal Guild: every 3 months on the 5th Tuesday at Albra’s.

June 17-19, Gem and Mineral Show in Santa Monica. A&S officer soliciting for workshops for late summer and fall, hoping to get one every 3 or 4 months.

 

Chatelain:  4 newcomers for loaner gear out. Aran stepping down at 12th Night needs a deputy.

 

Chronicler:  Enid volunteers.

 

Constable:  no report.

 

Exchequer:  + $422, - $20, Down -$15 for the month, 1% less than last year. Total in books: $7,138.53

 

Herald:  June 19th Heraldry Meeting, email Richard if you have something you want to submit

 

Lists:  Darach/Altavia Equestrian was really cool. Thomasina thinks she can do it, worked out a form to keep score.

 

Still looking for someone who will be here for Pirate; Alia will be running lists, Rhieinwen will do Gate (and Exchequer and Seneschal and Gold Key and Heavies’ Marshal), so she needs an assistant for Gate.

 

Marshal:  Good morning! Things are good!

 

Quartermaster:  Sending Shire eric up for Coronation/QC. Wilhelm and Umberto take care of it.

 

Seneschal:  If you've turned in your reports, great! If not, you are no longer the Seneschal's favorite. Everyone wants to be the Seneschal's favorite, so turn in your reports!

 

Meeting w/ new Kingdom Seneschal at Coronation, if you have any issues, let me know. Still collecting donations for Coronation/stepping up.  We have M&Ms, money for travel fund, a promissory to adopt a Kingdom for Pennsic if needed, and jewelry.

 

Webwright:  Talked w/ Stephen about what we’re trying to do (update website off of database-based system), deputy did updates to site. We’re in good graces with the Kingdom Webwright.

 

Youth Officer:  VACANT

Cooking Guild:  Still on hiatus.

Coronation stepping-up presentation:  See Seneschal’s commentary.

 

Darach/Altavia Equestrian:   Good job, everyone! Tomi wants a horse. And a dog. ;  +$329 attendence, -$25 for NMS, $24 was comped by Altavia, cost: $356, we owe Altavia $162. Total loss of $27.

 

New site for the business meeting:   Goodbye, classroom! Meeting in Oxnard Library (3rd & A) from now on, map and directions up on site by end of weekend. Meetings moving to Wednesday, 6:45 PM. That’s our room for the rest of 2011.

 

CP Prize, July 9th:  Come! Fight! Spend! Yay!  Coming up in July, CP stipend being slashed by, uh, pretty much everything. Please bring items for the raffle, especially baskets. Nothing will be turned away as long as it’s SCA-friendly. Anything Shire wants to do?

Darach Pirate Tournament (Lareej), Jul 30, 2011:  Still need judges for other contests, need potluck coordinator. Site opens at 9, everything starts at 10. Gold Key will be there.

 

Caid Rapier Open (Alexander) SEP 24, 2011:  WILL BE AWESOME. Montalvo Park, behind Ralph’s on Victoria.

 

Black Oak Lodge 2012 (Lareej), Mar 16-18, 2012: Road to Persia! usual site ahs been reserved, been in contact with the Caid Persians, Lareej needs BOL box from Rhieinwen, everything else is gravy!
