Chatelain. Aran was not present and sent no report.

Chronicler. Rhieinwen was not present but sent a report. She hopes everyone enjoyed the Jan issue, and she would love feedback about the photos sections and the new Stefan’s Florilegium column. She reminded everyone that she is looking for a deputy to take over as Chronicler by Jun. Luzia said she’s had so much trouble logging in to download the newsletter that she’s given up. Mayken and Ismay have also experienced problems. Can it be uploaded to Yahoogroup?

Constable. Ismay said two gold napkins were found at Yule. Alia said they were hers. Mission accomplished.

Exchequer. Mattea said the ending ledger balance as of Jan 7 was $8963.97.

Herald. Richard will step up at Kingdom Twelfth Night. He received the box from Bruce and still needs to go through it. He noted that many heraldic resources are now online, but if you can’t find information you need, you may still make an appointment with Bruce to access his library.

Lists. Thomasina had nothing to report.

Marshal. Wilhelm said the costumed fighter practice was rained out, so they had an armoring workshop and tea. Contact him for armor repairs or new armor before Estrella. The next costumed fighter practice will be Feb 28 at Via Marina Park.

Quartermaster. Rhieinwen was not present and forgot to send a report. Morgana said the Shire tablecloths were used at Yule and returned.

Seneschal. Catherine said her Doomsday report is done but she still had to e-mail it to Kingdom. She is working on getting a background check so she can help with youth activities.

Webwright. Wilhelm said that Kingdom requires us to have permissions signed for any pictures of children online. Send him updates and changes for the website.

Youth Officer. Mayken had no report except to remind everyone that she is looking for deputy.

Guilds

Textiles Guild. Albra had nothing to report.

Brewers Guild. Wilhelm said they had an unofficial meeting at a St Lucia’s party; 16 people attended. The next meeting is next Thu in Oxnard.

Cooking Guild. Still on hiatus.

Herbal Guild. Morgana said two people attended the Dec meeting, where she and Rhieinwen worked out the 2010 schedule. She reminded everyone that the meetings have moved to the first Fri of the month and that there will be no meeting in Feb.

Woodworking Guild. Luzia said the guild would be starting back up in Mar.

Old Business

Darach Equestrian Barding. A workshop is in the works.

Queens Champion Equestrian. Ismay said we had 52 paying members, and we made a profit of $400 before the 60/40 split with Kingdom, which gave us a true profit of $160. We are giving that to Kingdom Equestrian to help cover the site rental and insurance. Ismay said the event went well and suggested if we host it again, we not try to have heavy weapons fighting as well.

Shire Yule Wrap-Up. Ismay said everyone really liked the Ojai Women’s Club so she will look into using it again next year. Next year we’ll move the feast to the back room and have dancing in the front room. The Chamber of Commerce was also very happy with us and all went well.

New Business

Fighter Practice Rainy Day Site. Thomas has access to a gym and is still looking into it. If you have suggestions for an indoor rainy day fighter spot, let him know. Luzia suggested covered horse arenas; Wilhelm will look into it.

Camp Arnez. Falknar is the superintendent of Camp Arnez, so Camp Arnez is now SCA friendly. Details: Camping space for 300, cabins for 91, dining for 200, workshop space, rooms with sewing machines and pottery supplies, archery fields, and horse arena/corrals/pens. Cost is approx $3000 for a weekend. He is willing to work with us.
