Attending: Rhieinwen, Umberto, Morgana, Alexander,
Catherine, Richard, Thomasina, Aran, Alia, Albra, Mayken, Lareej, Ismay, Luzia
Meeting started: 7:01 p.m.
Officers
A&S. Albra said there was a gem and mineral Show this
coming weekend. She Submitted her Doomsday report to the Seneschal and the
Kingdom MOAS. She thanked everyone who sent her reports without her having to
twist their arms.
Chatelain. Aran just received Albra’s MOAS report, so it’s
not attached to the Doomsday report he submitted to the Seneschal, but it will
be sent to the Kingdom Chatelaine. He said we are reconnecting with Haydock
Middle School to possibly do more demos.
Chronicler. Rhieinwen said she hopes everyone found the
equestrian article in the December issue helpful at Queen’s Champion
Equestrian. She is still looking for a deputy to step up in June or thereabouts
when she steps up as Kingdom Chronicler.
Constable. Ismay said all found items from Queen’s Champion
Equestrian have been returned except for a camera case. Rhieinwen volunteered
to post the information on the Caid e-mail list.
Exchequer. Mattea was not present and sent no report.
Herald. Richard will be stepping up next month.
Lists. Thomasina had nothing to report.
Marshal. Wilhelm was not present and sent no report.
Quartermaster. Umberto said everything was returned to the
Shire shed after Queen’s Champion Equestrian. He needs to make arrangements with
Luzia to do some repair on benches, etc. Aran donated a modern lantern that
will be useful for War set up and tear down.
Seneschal. Catherine said her 4th-quarter report
is due on the Dec 10. If she needs extra information, she will e-mail
individual officers. She will be going through the background check process so
she can assist the Youth Officer with youth activities.
Webwright. Wilhelm was not present and sent no report.
Youth Officer. Mayken thanked Catherine for getting a background
check. Her own check is coming up for review and will be done by our next
event. If anyone’s interested in being her deputy, please contact her.
Catherine noted that we are not required to have youth activities for an entire
event; just a few hours is fine. Mayken added that it’s not baby sitting, and
parents have to be within sight and sound of their child. All the Youth Officer
does is provide something to keep children occupied.
Guilds
Textiles Guild. Albra said Textiles is still going on. There
will be no workshop on Dec 22.
Brewers Guild. Wilhelm was not present and sent no report. Aran
said the guild would be sharing some of their efforts at a St. Lucia’s
Celebration. The first Saturday in Jan is the Kingdom Brewers Guild meeting; if
anyone would like their brews judged informally, Aran can take them.
Cooking Guild. Still on hiatus.
Herbal Guild. Morgana said the last meeting was Nov 19 but
they do anything herbal because of low attendance. The next meeting is Dec 17.
In the new year, meetings are moving to the second Fri of each month; the first
one will be Jan 8.
Scribal Guild. Albra
said the Dec workshop is because of the holidays. However, because the deadline
for scrolls to be passed out at Twelfth Night is Dec 19, there will be a special
Dec 9 workshop at the usual location.
Woodworking Guild.
Luzia said she’s been making holiday presents but hasn’t had any other
interest.
Old Business
Queen’s Equestrian Champion Wrap-up. Congratulations to the newest Queen’s Champion,
Mayken, and our newest armiger, Angharad! Rhieinwen said a preliminary
accounting shows a $400 income (before NMS fees are subtracted). Mattea will
give the official report.
New Business
Darach Equestrian Champion Tabard. Luzia pointed out that you can hardly see the
tabard at a distance on Arabella’s horse. Is there the possibility of making a
new one, possibly by Darach Anniversary and Equestrian Championship? Catherine
asked Mayken to put the information out on the Darach e-mail list, and then we
can plan workshops to brainstorm ideas and come up with an estimated cost.
Upcoming Events
Costumed Fighter Practice. The next one will be held Dec 13 at Via Marina
Park in Oxnard.
Yule (Ismay), Dec 19. Ismay said the site has some
tables and a lot of chairs, so we should bring some tables. They don’t allow
any flames. Remember to RSVP and tell Ismay what you’re bringing. Bring
songbooks, too.
Black Oak Lodge 2010 (Mattea and Alia,) Mar 19–21. Alia said
things are going along well. She has flyers for folks to hand out at other
events. Note: The cost goes up on Jan 1.
Darach Anniversary, May 15.
We need an event steward! We should run an article in the Mar Crown Prints,
which means sending it in by the end of Jan.
Darach Pirate Tournament
(Lareej), Jul 31. Once she has an update, she will let us know.
